Why Samsung S25 Edge Can Reverse More Than 30% Stock Price Correction

Premature introduction as a mirror of the market

Of course, the timing of the S25 Edge is atypical. Samsung traditionally launches foldable phones such as the Galaxy Fold or Flip in the middle of the year, but this year we can see that the manufacturer has come up with a different plan. According to the company's management, the goal of this launch is clear – to maintain the growth and market share of the flagship series even at a time when demand is expected to cool. Daniel Araujo, vice president of the mobile division, admitted that the combination of seasonality and customs uncertainty could negatively affect sales in the second quarter. That is why the S25 Edge enters as an imaginary bridge between the S25 series and other novelties that are still in preparation.

From our point of view, however, it is also something more. While the competition is still fine-tuning its "thin models," Samsung is promptly acting in advance. Analyst Ben Wood of CCS Insight confirmed to CNBC that the second half of 2025 is likely to belong to ultra-thin devices, with Samsung having a significant lead over competitors.

Easing trade tensions

Samsung is currently also playing into the hands of macroeconomic developments. After "Liberation Day", when the US suddenly introduced reciprocal tariffs, there was chaos in the financial markets, which probably all of us have experienced. However, the situation has calmed down in the meantime. This was followed by a 90-day suspension of tariffs, the resumption of dialogue with China and the exclusion of chips and smartphones from the tariff. Outcome? The market has been given time to breathe, and companies like Samsung and Apple have gained a much-needed short-term advantage. Overall, this created an ideal window for these giants to introduce a new model without the risk of additional costs.

AI and dual camera system

On the hardware side, the S25 Edge has the potential to impress not only with its slim profile, but also with the latest AI features. Although the details are not yet fully disclosed, a deeper integration of generative AI is expected, which may be of particular interest to the younger generation of users who want more than just a high-quality display and camera.

In addition, thanks to AI, smartphones are moving into the category of personal digital assistants, where Samsung can have a significant lead, especially over Apple, which is just starting with AI elements in iOS 18.

Conclusion

From an investment point of view, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is not just about millimeters and grams. Above all, this is a strategic and well-thought-out step at a time when the market environment is changing faster than ever before. For investors as a whole, this may represent an opportunity for diversification, but this is extremely crucial, as the share price is currently in a correction of about 37%, which is a very attractive valuation given the fundamental strength of this giant.* A potential increase only to last year's high would mean an appreciation of almost 60%.
